Age-Defying and Photoprotective Potential of Geranium/Calendula Essential Oil Encapsulated Vesicular Cream on Biochemical Parameters against UVB Radiation Induced Skin Aging in Rat

UVB irradiation promotes the production of reactive oxygen species, which can lead to an increase in oxidative stress cell and generation toxic components, resulting photoaging. Essential oils (EOs) are well-known cosmetics sector for their beneficial effects, as they have a wide range biological activities. Considering this fact, current study investigates photoprotective potential geranium essential oil (GEO)/calendula (CEO) encapsulated vesicular cream on biochemical parameters skin albino rats exposed radiation. After 30 days treatment with formulations irradiation, tissue was assayed several histopathology analysis. The results revealed that, comparison non-vesicular creams, were able protect endogenous natural antioxidant system by maintaining superoxide dismutase, catalase, total protein, ascorbic acid, hydroxyproline levels decreasing malondialdehyde after exposure. Changes various cellular structures along change epidermis dermis exposure treated group observed compared non-treated group, damaging effect radiation protective creams. suggest that GEO/CEO-encapsulated creams against harmful defence mechanism skin. In conclusion, research presents novel herbal cosmetic improved capacity may help slow down aging process.
